About Baguio

Safest City In The Philippines

Baguio was founded by William Forbes, the same guy Forbes.com Magazine is from, in the year 1900. It is a beautiful, peaceful mountain city 1500 meters above sea level and the average temperature all year round is 70F.

The population is about 300,000 but over the weekends the population almost doubles due to tourism. There was a major earthquake in 1990 that caused a lot of damage to the city, but now the buildings are built to strict code.

It is a peaceful, carefree town that is full of wonderful places to eat, beautiful sights and home to many large American or foreign corporations that employee thousands of people.
