Cost Of Living & Housing In Baguio, Philippines

Here is a list of the current costs I know of about living in Baguio City area.

If you don’t know the American dollar, it’s about $20 for 1,000 PH Pesos. So $100 is 5,000 PH Pesos and $20,000 is 1,000,000 PH Pesos

$40,000 to buy a cheap already made home
$32,000 for a brand new toyota SUV fortuner (would last like 20 years)
$140,000 to make your own customized 4-5 bedroom, 3 bathroom home, including choice pick of land, on a mountain top; (most companies I’ve talked will take $20k or even as low as $10k down and payments over the next year or two for this)
$140 a month to rent a small studio or 1 bedroom
$40-60 a month to share a bedroom somewhere
$300 a month to rent a decent luxury townhouse (as of July, 2019, this is what we do)
$1000 a month to rent a giant home (like 4-7 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, etc… in a nice area

$7 for 100 gallons of crystal pure drinking water (last 2 people about 3 months)
$10 a month for a 1000 gallon water tank to be filled for household water supply (if you have your own house)
$100 a month for food
$300 a month for food if you are a pig eater (like me)
$20 a month for using a LOT of electricity
$4.25 a gallon for gas
$70 a month for BOMB internet connection (150MB up AND down, use Converg)
$20 a month for just a good internet connection

It rains almost every other day, usually sunshine and gorgeous until about 3pm, then it gets cloudy and rainy but it’s beautiful rain, and it doesn’t stop people from going out
You will want a nice umbrella that fits in a nice shoulder bag
A nice pair of slip-proof shoes; lots of mountains and slippery slopes
Get a steal proof sleek shoulder bag that you can wear in the front (I’ve been pickpocketed twice)
The women here are arguably the sweetest on earth
The food is farm fresh and organic by nature and amazing
REAL good tires if you buy a car
